Call for photos of Clarissa Cochran’s work
My mum Clarissa (Issa) has been worked as a painter, printmaker & textile artist for over 60 years. She’s coming up to her 80th birthday.
With the help of Charlotte Woodley I’m collecting photos of her work to make into a catalogue to celebrate her life as an artist.

Issa is known for her indigo dyed shibori textiles, paintings of land and seascapes, woodcut prints and collages.
She has a deep fascination with Japanese aesthetic principles, specifically the concept of shibui—a sense of simplicity, purity, and inner radiance.
Her "paintings" are often mixed-media creations that bridge the gap between traditional painting and textile art.
