Rock, Wood, Silver is a show of beautiful, collectable artworks by Mel Fraser, Loukas Morley, and Abi Cochran. Each designer maker has their own unique style, a keen attention to detail, and a mutual appreciation for exquisite materials.

All three are based in Fulbourn just to the east of Cambridge, brought together by Cambridge Open Studios and a love of each other’s work. The local landscape has profoundly shaped their designs.

Mel Fraser pushes the physical boundaries of stone, creating otherworldly sculpture. She miraculously reduces the mass of the rock she carves to create delicate, floating forms, often resembling silk that has come to life, floating gently in soft, underwater currents. - MelFraser.com

Loukas Morley’s new work brings an earthy element to this show with curvaceous burr wood forms, turned from twisted root balls - the literal roots of his local landscape. Using rare, ancient windfalls from Anglesey Abbey and other old Cambridgeshire gardens, he reveals the complex character of wood that has matured over hundreds of years. - LoukasMorley.co.uk

Abi's jewellery bridges the gap between ethereal and earthly. The fluid forms in her silverwork give a sense of movement, the organic textures connect them to the natural world. Accentuated by fine details of gold granulation, gems or gold leaf. - silverspirals.co.uk
